A group of 26 Italian companies will participate at the upcoming edition of Cosmoprof North America under the Italian Trade Commission umbrella. The event will take place from July 18th to July 20th at the Mandalay Convention Center of Las Vegas.
Cosmoprof North America continues to maintain its coveted position as the premier business-to-business beauty event. Encompassing all sectors of the industry in one venue, it remains the single most important forum for the entire beauty industry despite the challenging economic climate.


MADE IN ITALY ON MADISON

The Italian Trade Commission, in partnership with Madison Avenue Business Improvement District, is proud to celebrate the quality and heritage of Italian-made fashion and accessories goods during MADE IN ITALY on Madison, an exciting two week series of consumer shopping events and promotions on New York City’s iconic Madison Avenue.
Kicking off with a VIP Launch Celebration on the evening of Thursday, December 10th at the Morgan Library & Museum and continuing until Tuesday, December 22nd, the Italian Trade Commission has been joined by more than 30 leading Italian fashion, accessory and lifestyle retailers in hosting a dynamic series of special events and promotions on Madison Avenue. Aniello Musella, Italian Trade Commissioner for the United States comments: “Since Italy began exporting to the United States in the 1950s, the U.S. has become one of the largest global markets for Italian luxury goods. During this time, Italian-made products have been coveted by discerning American consumers for their fine tradition of hand craftsmanship, attention to detail, pioneering design and use of the highest-quality materials. It is especially important that we support retailers during this critical time of year given the challenging economic climate we’ve faced over the past 12 months. We are very encouraged by signs of recovery, and look forward to creating a dynamic experience to attract shoppers to visit and shop Italian stores on Madison Avenue this holiday season.”

isabella rossellini let yourself be charmed by an italianThe Italian Trade Commission - ICE selected the Italian-born actress, model and business entrepreneur Isabella Rossellini as spokesperson for the  ‘Made In Italy’ advertising campaign introduced to the United States in February, 2008. Shot in the city of her birth, Rome, the Made In Italy TV, print and radio campaign celebrated the high-quality sophistication and luxury of Italian fashion, accessories, jewelry and home products. In the campaign Isabella Rossellini challenged Americans to “Let yourself be charmed by an Italian”, highlighting the perfect style and passion for handcrafted detail that makes Italian products so special and unmistakable.

The Italian Trade Commission in collaboration with FIAMP, the Italian Federation of Fashion Accessories, showcased for the first time, the creativity, flair, sophistication and exquisite craftsmanship and style of every accessory category “Made in Italy”.  These included footwear, eyeglasses, jewelry, handbags, small leather goods and fur products.
The exhibition was in view during New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, from February 11th to February 18th, 2010 in Bryant Park. The weeklong exhibition presented the latest trends and styles in every accessory category to fashion enthusiasts from around the world attending the fall 2010 fashion shows in New York.  Authentic high quality, “Made in Italy” handbags, leather accessories, jewelry, eyeglasses, fur products and footwear signed by some of the most prestigious names from the Italian industry will be displayed in the lobby at the tents in Bryant Park.

HISTORICAL EYEWEAR EXHIBIT

The Italian Trade Commission - ICE and the Italian Optical Goods Manufacturers’ AssociationANFAO presented “Eyewear from the Beginning to the Future: the history of Eyeglasses from their invention in Italy to the last trends“, a dynamic exhibition that showcased not only the fascinting history of eyewear but also highlighted the quality, craftsmanship and innovative design of Italian-Made products. The Exibition, housed in Vanderbilt Hall at Gran Central Terminal was opened to the public between March 19 and March 24, 2010. It featured a chronological presentation of Eyewear design from it invention in the 13th century to the present day and beyond.

The display structures was designed by award-winning italian Architect Giorgio Borusso and the Exhibit was curated by Alessandra Albarello.
